Living and working in Erie County gives you access to some of the best minor league sports teams in the country.  Erie County is proud of its sporting teams that provide an affordable adventure for family and corporate events.  We come out in force to support our hockey, baseball and basketball teams.

The Erie Otters, our Major junior ice hockey team, are members of the Midwest division of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL), one of the only three American teams in the circuit.  A family night watching the Erie Seawolves at UMPC Park, currently undergoing a $12 million renovation, is always packed.  Our Erie BayHawks, an NBA G League affiliate of the Atlanta Hawks Basketball Club, offers tremendous athleticism up close, and features a full slate of fun-filled family nights, giveaways and national halftime acts.

If the major league teams are more your speed, you are in driving distance to three cities with proud sports traditions. Bills/Sabres? Steelers/Pirates/Penguins? Browns/Cavaliers/Indians? Erie County is home to super fans from across all three markets working side by side (unless it is playoff season, then all bets are off).

Erie also has a thriving high school and college sports scene. The Friday Night Lights are bright throughout Erie County, and the community comes out in force to support these young athletes.

The Erie Otters are a Major junior ice hockey team based in Erie, Pennsylvania. They are members of the Midwest division of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL), one of only three American teams in the circuit.
